Petal(1-4) lost to Biloxi(1-3) last Friday night, 21-23. Petal's last possession ended when sophomore RB, Jonathon Ruffin fumbled the ball at the Indians 40 yard line with two minutes remaining.
Back up sophomore QB, Adarrius Hunter, had a good game completing several passes and one 45 yard TD to sophomore RB, Jason Travis. Junior, Isaiah Newsome rushed for over 100 yards including two TD's.
First year QB, junior Drew Carruth, should return this week after being out due to injury for two games against the 4-0, Ocean Springs. Offensive lineman, Ryan Barrett, Melvin Meggs and Antonio Johnson has played hard. Defensively, Ricky McLemore has been a beast up front along with Brandon Jordan, Lagerius Magee and sophomore, Carronton McNair. Sophomore WR, Tavarese Maye has become an offensive threat.
With Petal having such a young team and tough district schedule, look for the Panthers to break even this season.
